This amazing skirt is from the 50s. This is a pretty dainty skirt with an abstract basket weave type print. This is a sweet every day type skirt from the 50s.

I rescued it from a trunk in an attic recently. It belonged to my Grandmother who was an amazing amateur seamstress.

Colors are Black with lilac pinkish purple with white roses and teal accents.


The full skirt is Pleated at top to add more fullness. I assume if you added petticoats or crinoline it would flare out more. There is a row of white decorative buttons all the way down the front. There is a pocket on one side.


Condition- Very Good - the top button is missing. There are no holes but there is some spots at the bottom with discoloration (yellowish). Due to the business of the print this is not readily visible if you are not looking for it. It can possibly be hemmed a touch to fix that issue.

Size - This is Handmade so no Size Tag - I would guess no bigger than 4 or 6 or XS or S. The dress form in the picture is a 6 and it was unable to button at top.
