Vintage Ceramic Ram, Goat, Sheep, Mid Century, Ceramic Ram Statue, Big Horn Sheep, Huge Statue, Hand Painted, Italy, Majolica Style (A633)
 
This is a unique hand painted ram ceramic pottery statue. This Ram has great horns and a powerful presence.

I believe it was made somewhere between the 50s to the 70s. 

I’ve seen very similar ones described as Majolica with very high price tags. This one is not quite as detailed as those. I also have seen some that look to be the same mold but less detailed than this. This piece must be a fairly early casting of the mold. The facial detail, horns and wool are much more defined than some I’ve seen available on the market.

Condition is very good. Glaze is very nice. There is a patch on the body that has some scuffs. It’s not very noticeable but I included a picture of that spot.

Underneath is the number written 7731M Italy and also 430. The first number may be the mold number. The other may be a dealer price or inventory number.
