Vintage Photograph, Butler High School, 1939 Washington Picnic , Historical Photo (EP-A016)

I found this photo rolled up with some old newspapers. It is a super huge class picture from Butler High School's 1939 Washington Party. The setting of the photo if I am not mistaken is a huge house on Route 206/202 in western New Jersey. As a child I used to think it was "THE" White House when we passed this property on our way to Camping.  It's kind of ironic that the Washington Picnic photo was taken on the lawn of this property.

But I digress. I've included lots of images of the teens featured. They are so fascinating to look at. All of them on the cusp of adulthood. Many of them possibly heading to war in a few years. Their clothing is so fresh and sophisticated. You can see who are the academics, jocks and jokers in their expressions.

Condition - There is some damage on the edges. It looks like something spilled a long time ago. It is 29" Wide.

It is an interesting study for fashion in the 1930s.
